WHAT WE DID

Sapporro Teppanyaki

East meets West

Setting Glasgow’s restaurant scene alight was the priority for DADA when handling the launch activity for fiery restaurant chain Sapporo Teppanyaki’s first outlet in Scotland.

After successful ventures in Manchester and Liverpool the group was keen to create some heat around its arrival in Glasgow; bringing an authentic taste of the East to Scotland’s West Coast.

DADA was appointed to create a bespoke launch campaign and came up with an exciting event concept combined with an intensive PR and social media campaign to put fire in the bellies of Glasgow diners.

Over 400 guests attended the hugely successful launch event with a mix of media representatives, journalists, corporate targets and consumers accepting DADA’s invitation of a night to remember. Diners were greeted by fearless flame throwers, authentic taiko drummers and grinning geishas before entering the doors of the hottest joint to hit the streets of the Merchant City.

The red carpet experience continued inside with dedicated chefs demonstrating their prowess as Glaswegian guests discovered the glory of yakitori.

Pre-launch PR secured over 30 pieces of coverage in local and national press and, with anticipation reaching fever pitch, the restaurant secured reviews in every major Scottish title. Head sushi chef Ekamon also featured on STV’s “The Hour” showing Scots how to create the ultimate fast food - sushi in 60 seconds.

DADA might not be able to juggle knives over a flaming hot plate but we know some people who can and were delighted to fuel the media fire around Sapporo Teppanyaki Glasgow.
