A day in the life of a Senior Account Executive

Thinking about applying for a position at DADA? Elisa Dunn, Senior Account Executive gives an insight into what her day to day role involves.

I joined DADA a year ago; coming from a large public sector organisation I was keen to move into consumer PR and broaden my experience. Well what a year it’s been. I can honestly say there’s never a dull moment in the DADA office. One day I can be arranging photocalls, writing copy for competitions, award entries and advertorials and the next I can be speaking to the fashion director at Company Magazine to pitch a new product, searching for the new face of Ortak’s marketing campaign and organising high profile events for clients.

While PR can be glamorous at times, such as arranging events with David Coulthard or Emeli Sande, to succeed you need fantastic organisation skills, a keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for the job. I need to plan months in advance - organising events, coordinating and maintaining my client’s PR planners, arranging photocalls and coming up with the next ‘big’ idea. But I can honestly say it’s a real team effort at DADA; I work with a great bunch of people and the exciting mix of clients means that every day is different. If you’re a people person who loves organising, can prioritise your workload, keep all your clients happy and most importantly you have a passion for creativity then DADA is the company for you.

Just a word of warning though …being a bit of a shopaholic, the fact that DADA HQ is right in the heart of Buchanan Street makes popping out for a sandwich a bit of a risky business. It takes a will of steal to avoid a little mooch round the shops at lunchtime!
