ROX/HSBC Rugby Sevens World Series

Last Friday night the DADA girls (and boy) were out in force at ROX in the Argyll Arcade for an event to celebrate the start of HSBC Rugby 7s which was organised in collaboration with ROX, HSBC and Fast Track.

The glamorous affair was hosted in the ROX Thrill Room by the BBC’s Cat Cubie who was looking as gorgeous as ever in a stunning Olivia Rubin dress set off with £50,000 of diamonds from ROX… what a lucky, lucky lady!

It wasn’t just Cat looking dapper though… we were joined by Scottish rugby legend Gavin Hastings (on top form as always throughout the night), Glasgow Warriors players Rory Lamont and James Eddie and New Zealand Sevens’ manager Gordon Tietjen.

Champagne and cocktails were flowing courtesy of Moet, Stolichyna Vodka and Maker’s Mark Bourbon, delicious doesn’t even start to cover them, while the gents were sipping on Innis & Gunn beers. As the ladies attending browsed ROX’s beautiful range of diamonds and designer jewellery, the gents were definitely checking out the HSBC Sevens World Series cup which was on display for the evening… later that weekend it was lifted by the New Zealand team after a phenomenal weekend of rugby sevens action.

Later in the evening Cat took to the stage calling up Gavin, Rory, James and Gordon to grill them on their careers, HSBC Rugby Sevens, how they relax before a match and what shenanigans they get up to when celebrating a win… despite Cat’s best efforts they weren’t giving much away on the latter question but regardless we all left with a great insight into the fast paced world of HSBC Rugby 7s and some of us, with a new love for Maker’s Mark Bourbon.

We’ll leave you with this picture from the event… but we can also tell you that while browsing through all pictures, we found one of DADA’s Tracy Simpson testing out Elisa Dunn’s favourite pose… if you missed that tip, you can check it out in our blog about Grand Central’s Charity Ball. We’ll keep that picture for next time Tracy’s bad.
